Allen Gilmer- DrillingInfo

The big picture... the health of US O&G depends on its success as an exporter. The oil that we are producing is a novelty item. The US and, with time, the world will be awash on 50+ API oil. This will continue to force the hydrocarbon markets to break into components. WTI and NYMEX and Henry Hub will no longer be granular enough markings. Hydrocarbon chain components will be freer to move more and more independently, constrained principly on the cost to crack. Where will the increasingly valuable 20-45 API crudes be found in the US? The small picture... I'll show you how we look at and model the subsurface... not as big geovoxels, not as largely seismically derived subsurface representations, but as a very fine grained "probability space" where seismic data can provide "soft controls". We will also talk about the LIMITATIONS of data-only AI and statistics and why First Principles and physics still matter...
